We were able to pull off our third straight win in fantasy football with a close 112-111 victory over our opponent. Heading into tonight’s Monday night match-up, we had a comfortable 17 point lead. Our opponent had Thomas Jones, who ended up scoring 16 points. We had Miami’s defense, which scored us zero points (should’ve played the Redskins). The final drive by Miami sealed the win and also left no time for Jones to get another carry. We started three Giants this week with Eli, Bradshaw and Smith. Great call to bench Julius Jones and go with Ahmad. Michael Turner finally had a nice game for us. Looks like we will maintain a lead or tie for first heading into this week. Fantasy football definitely brings additional excitement to the game.
Fantasy football week 4
October 5, 2009Week 4 proved to be our most dominate performance in fantasy football. We won by a solid 40 points. Performance was led by Philip Rivers (26) and our free agent pick-up Steve Smith (25) – of the Giants. We failed to start the Miami defense (22) but had the Redskins (11) in our back pocket. Ochocinco had another solid game (14), which by the way the Bengals look good. Scoring in the single digits were, Stephen Jackson (7), Julius Jones (3), Greg Jennings (3), Owen Daniels (4) and Mason Crosby (5). We also had Eli Manning on the bench (27), which we are debating if we should play him this coming week against the Raiders – due to a heel injury.
The win brings us in a tie for first in our division. We’ll have to evaluate the players on bye this week. We’ll update the fantasy page if we make any moves.
TYP Fantasy football team – Week 3 recap
September 29, 2009Chalk one up for the TenYardPenalty fantasy football team, getting our first win of the season 89-68. We had a comfortable 30 point lead heading into tonight’s Monday game (which the Cowboys won) with our opponent having had two players remaining, Steve Smith and Nick Folk.
Week 2 fantasy football…no better than week 1
September 22, 2009Philip Rivers, Michael Turner, Steven Jackson and Ochocinco all had decent games. Greg Jennings (scored nothing) and Miami defense disappointed. We will likely lose by a lousy 4 points and go 0-2 for the season.
Fantasy football results week 1
September 16, 2009Our week 1 football fantasy team had a terrible performance. It didn’t help that we faced off against the guy with the first pick who of course took Adrian Peterson. We took Michael Turner with the second pick, but he was ineffective. In addition, we started Philip Rivers, Steven Jackson, Ochocinco, Owen Daniels, LenDale White, Mason Crosby and the Miami defense. Our only bright spot was Greg Jennings (only because he had that 50 yard TD catch). We made a trade before the week 1 games, giving up Antonio Bryant and Jason Campbell for Julius Jones and Todd Heap. Unfortunately, we didn’t start either of them.
We feel pretty good about the team for week 2. We’ll post our roster moves before the start of the games. Just like the Bears, can’t afford to start 0-2.
